W przypadku sztormu Lorenzo nie sprawdziły się prognozy sugerujące, iż efekty jego przejścia nad „Zieloną Wyspą” będą bardzo dotkliwe dla jej mieszkańców. Z kolei sztorm Atiyah okazał się mieć bardziej niszczycielską siłę niż początkowo zakładano.
