Garda została zmuszona do zamknięcia publicznych parkingów w bardzo dobrze znanym miejscu turystycznym Glendalough, po skargach dt. osób, które nie traktują poważnie zaleceń Departamentu Zdrowia, pomimo kryzysu związanego z rozprzestrzenianiem się koronawirusa.
Zaobserwowano tłumy ludzi w Glendalough, ulice pełne zaparkowanych samochodów oraz mnóstwo ludzi stojących w kolejce przy punktach z kawą czy jedzeniem.
Garda poinformowała za pośrednictwem swoich mediów społecznościowych, że parkingi w Glendalough są teraz zamknięte do odwołania.
Patrole Gardy znajduj się obecnie przy drogach dojazdowych, które kierują ruchem.
